Tips

On handling speed:

I think it's a natural pleasure, it's enjoyment. It's fun, it's really fun. I was five or six when I first started going fast. I crashed really bad on a BMX bike in the east bay hills with my dad. I got road rash and holes in my motocross T shirt.

The worst thing to do before a race:

Be late, miss the practice run, lose your number plate, forget your gloves or your goggles, have flat tires, forget your start time…when your concentration is consumed you forget about everything else.

On what women want:

I don't know the answer to that. I don't know any women who want me right now. I guess they want your love. And then a whole lot more. Always a problem.

On dealing with hostilities, such as that champion racer who was badmouthing you for something you didn't do:

I don't want to stir up any shit.

On eating while traveling:

They cook bacon and eggs in South Africa. Yes for "breaky". Definitely Spain is the place for lunch and you have to have naptime. Dinner is Italy for risotto.
