Q:
When are you getting back on a motorcycle?
Myles:
Soon, I hope. I don't know if I'll be that trusting right away.
I sold the YZ 250 I was riding to Dave Giusti. I still have the
RM 125 and a KLX 650.
Q:
What's up this season?
Myles:
The intent is racing well and getting strong as I make a slow entry
back into racing. Starting with the basics…riding the bike, swimming
and playing simple stuff like basketball. In the gym I'll be doing
all around conditioning. I'll be playing some golf this spring.
Q:
What problems do you run into with sponsors?
Myles:
That's negative. Don't ask me that.
Q:
What's it like between you and Volvo Cannondale?
Myles:
It's a pretty long lasting relationship which works well when it
comes to racing. It's a huge team. It could seem either like a team
effort or a team dysfunction but usually it's the better of the
two.
Q:
What's the truth to the rumor that other racers are pushing for
slower courses in order to have an advantage over you?
Myles:
Where's that coming from? I don't like that. It sounds too---I don't
think it has anything to do with me. I don't think these people
want to go fast. Whatever.
Q:
What is different about your approach to mountain bike
racing?
Myles:
My own way of being doesn't have anything to do with anyone else's.
It depends on what facets of me you are comparing. You can't compare
my approach to mountain biking to anyone else's. My approach is
more emotional… sentimental…more deeply thought of…I was doing my
own backyard style downhill fun racing with buddies before downhill
racing was discovered and embraced. I've seen it when it was still
small.
